Thermo-Scan reminds homeowners to watch their water bills this spring
Thermo-Scan Inspections reminds homeowners to watch their water bills for sudden increases, especially during the spring. As water systems age, water lines sometimes crack or deteriorate due to corrosion damage. Water leaks can cause extremely high water bills, water damage, and
prevent the loss of water to your home. A dripping leak produces 15 gallons of water loss per day, while a ¼
inch leak in a water line produces 226 gallons of water loss per day.
The problem isn’t as serious when the damage occurs to pipes that are accessible in your home…it’s the leaking pipes that are underground or underneath the concrete slab that can cause the most damage.
Instead of tearing up large portions of slab to identify the leaking or cracked pipe, the trained technicians from Thermo-Scan can use ultra-sound and infrared thermography to determine the location of the defective pipe. Homeowners can save hundreds of dollars due to minimal concrete damage, while dramatically decreasing the time spent finding the leak.
